MSNA Candidate Forum Participation Policy

Thank you for your interest in participating in MSNA’s Candidate Forum. This event is designed to provide residents with a fair and informative opportunity to engage directly with candidates. To ensure a respectful and organized forum, all participants are asked to adhere to the following guidelines:

Eligibility & Registration

  • Participation is limited to officially registered candidates for the office they indicate on the registration form.
  • All candidates must complete the registration form by July 31 to be included.
  • MSNA reserves the right to verify candidate eligibility.

Event Format

  • The forum will take place during MSNA’s regular meeting on Monday, August 10 at 7 PM.
  • Each candidate will be given equal time to introduce themselves and share their platform.
  • If time allows, a moderated question-and-answer period with residents will follow (format and timing may vary depending on the number of participants).
  • Additional details regarding the agenda, including speaking times and question format, will be shared with registered candidates by August 5.

Fairness & Equal Representation

  • MSNA is committed to providing a neutral, nonpartisan platform.
  • All participating candidates will be treated equally in terms of speaking time and opportunity to engage.
  • If a large number of candidates register, MSNA may adjust the format to ensure fairness.

Conduct & Respect

  • Candidates are expected to engage respectfully with one another, residents, and event organizers.
  • Personal attacks, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate language will not be permitted.
  • MSNA reserves the right to moderate or remove any participant who does not adhere to these standards.

Materials & Promotion

  • Candidates may be asked to submit a short bio and/or headshot for informational purposes.
  • Submitted materials may be shared with residents in advance of the event or used in promotional communications.

Representation

  • Candidates are encouraged to attend in person. If a candidate is unable to attend, an approved representative may participate on their behalf, provided this is indicated in advance during registration.

General Disclaimer

  • MSNA does not endorse any candidate or political party.
  • This forum is intended solely as a community service to inform and engage residents.
