Halloween on Coral Way

Get into the Halloween Spirit and decorate your home to be the scariest, funkiest or funniest in the neighborhood! Out-BOO your neighbors by entering the Haunted House Decorating Contest! The winners of this year’s contest will be awarded fantastic prizes! 

 

This contest is organized through a partnership between the Miami Shenandoah Neighborhood Association and the Miami Silver Bluff Neighborhood Association.

CONTEST RULES: 

  • Homes must be located within the Miami Shenandoah Neighborhood Association’s boundaries (SW 8th Street to Coral Way, SW 12th Avenue to SW 27th Avenue) or the Miami Silver Bluff Neighborhood Association’s boundaries (17th Avenue to 27th Avenue, US1 to Coral Way).
  • Decorations must not cover/interfere with any fire safety equipment or walkways.
  • Decorations should be PG-13.
  • All participants must submit one day-time and one night-time photo of their decorations by October 25th via email to miamishenandoah@gmail.com (instructions will be sent via email at a later date). 
  • Judging will be conducted during the evenings of October 28-30. Judging will only include the portion of your yard/house that is visible at night from the sidewalk, driveway or street. Judges decisions are final. 
  • Winners will be announced on October 31st via website, social media, and email. Prizes will be delivered to the winning home(s) within a few days.
  • Although not required, participants are requested to keep their houses decorated through November 5th so the community may view and enjoy them.

TO VOLUNTEER AS A JUDGE: 

If your household is not entering this year’s contest, we would love to have you volunteer as a judge! As a judge, you will be asked to visit each one of the homes in the contest at your own pace between October 28-30th from 7:00-10:00pm. A Judging Form will be shared with you by October 28th with the information on each home and categories for your consideration. Your scores must be entered by midnight on October 30th. Individual judges identities and scores will remain confidential.
